Onorio Ruotolo, Bust of Dante at The University of Virginia (1921)

A bust of Dante located in the Del Greco Library (supported by the Casa del Greco Library Fund) at the University of Virginia Department of Spanish, Italian, & Portuguese. It was created by Onorio Ruotolo in 1921, an Italian-American sculptor who was sometimes called the “Rodin of Little Italy.”

An inscription on the base reads: “Ruotolo N.Y. 1921”
