“Dolce Stil Novo” Beauty Salon

“A beauty salon in the town of Montegalda, Province of Vicenza.”

Contributed by Arturo Silva

Dolce stil novo refers to a poetic and literary movement in thirteenth- and fourteenth-century Italy. While Dante was not the first poet to write in this “sweet new style,” he was the one to give it its name in Purgatorio XXIV when Bonagiunta correctly identifies him as the author of the poem “Donne ch’avete intelletto d’amore.” Read more about this Canto and the presence of the Dolce stil novo on Digital Dante.
