Wednesday, S2E2: “The Devil You Woe” (2025)
At the episode’s climax, Wednesday must save her friends who’ve been ensnared in a deadly trap by her yet-to-be-identified stalker. To save them, she must answer the question “What don’t you see?” as she finds herself surrounded by stacks of books. She reads aloud the names of a few authors, “Poe, Dante, Shelley, Dickens […] Each stack is the collected work of a famous author,” and then the camera flashes to a close up of the three volumes of The Divine Comedy in Italian. The frame shows these books at the top of the pile with others below, suggesting that Dante’s other works are there too, though the titles are not visible. (timestamp: 14:18)
