“Dante Rides Again” at Potsdam Museum (2020)

“POTSDAM – “Dante Rides Again,” a staged reading of a trip through the circles of the Inferno and Purgatory, will be presented free at the Potsdam Museum, 2 Park St., on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.  Walter Noble, retired Italian literature professor, has written the new English translation of Dante’s Divine Comedy originally written in 1314. Audience members will interact with the different characters of the Inferno – Virgil, the Poet; Dante, the traveler; Charon, the river ferryman crossing the damned souls; St Lucy, patron Saint of Dante; Ciacco, the damned glutton; and the devils Bentwing, Nastydog and Crazyfly.  Projections of Dante’s Inferno images will highlight the reading.  Cast members include Carole Berard, Bruce Brownlee, Jim Fryer, Art and Anne Johnson, Elaine Kuracina, John Lancaster and Marilyn Rosenthal.  This group is part of an international Lovers of Dante Club.”  –November 8, 2019, North County
